CHIEF MINISTER'S VISIT TO U.S. AND UK

 

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan along with a team of Cabinet colleagues and bureaucrats is on an official visit to London, New York, Los Angeles to invite British and American investors to the State for destination Madhya Pradesh investors Summit 2007 on 26th –27th October 2007.

The American Investors have shown interest in the State's specialty Textiles Chanderi, Maheshwari and Cotton bagh prints. While Chanderi and Maheshwari are renowned sarees, Bagh uses natural dyes made from fruits; vegetables and herbs the colours come in rich maroons, reds, yellow, rust, greens, brown and black. Not all shades and colours are possible in bagh.

Kenpo INC, a textile company has shown interest in the handloom textiles of Madhya Pradesh. The company has committed to set-up a textile industry to make these kind of fabrics in the state which would be totally meant for export to the US.

Speaking to foreign investors and NRIs in Los Angeles, Shri Shivraj Singh Chauhan said complete industrial peace prevails in Madhya Pradesh with a zero man days loss record over the past 10-12 years. He said the State's industry has not lost even a single man day on account of labour strikes.

During his visit to London, worldwide CEO of Liberty international PLC David Fischel made a presentation and expressed his desire to enter the real estate market in Indore and Gwalior. The company is the third largest real estate trusts in UK. An MoU has been signed between the company and Madhya Pradesh Government.

HIGHLIGHTS OF STATE POLICY FOR DEVELOPMENT AND USE OF NON FOREST WASTE LAND

  •  Allotted land exempted under M.P. Agri Land Ceiling Act 1960

  • Permission can be granted for allowing hypothecation of leased land.

  • Normal lease period 30 years, which can be renewed with the permission of state govt.

  • Application for allotment has to be submitted to the concerned Distt. Collectors.

  • Upto 50 Ha land can be allotted at Distt. Level. Decision for above 50 Ha land shall be taken at State level.

  • Land shall be allotted on license, initially for two year (without Fees), thereafter nominal lease rent shall be charged as detailed below:

first 5 years              -Rs. 500/- per Hacter/year

6 to 10 years            -Rs. 1,000/- per Hacter/year

11th to 30 years        -Rs. 1,500/- per Hacter/year

  • Land can be transferred with due permission of State Govt.

  • Permission to develop processing facilites.

  • If desired area is not available in one piece then land available at different locations can also be allotted as per availability.
